The Superconducting Transition of LuNi2B2C
Isaac Cohen
Project Advisor: George Schmiedeshoff

We studied the superconducting phase transition of the non-magnetic superconductor LuNi2B2C by measuring the thermal expansion with a capacitive dilatometer. We measured the temperature of the superconducting transition and the thermal expansion of this transition along both the a-axis and c-axis of our crystalline structure. We will use an Ehrenfest relation to find the pressure dependence of the superconducting transition. We will compare to other results in the literature.
