On November 16th, UEPI held a reception with Occidental Alum Joe Linton, author of "Down by the Los Angeles River". This new book is the first on-the ground guide to the LA River and features walks, bikeways, historic bridges and lavish illustrations.

Friends of the Los Angeles River is a non-profit organization founded in 1986 to protect and restore the natural and historic heritage of the Los Angeles River and its riparian habitat through inclusive planning, education and wise stewardship.
CASO -- the Council of Arroyo Seco Organizations -- is a new forum for organizations working to make a difference in the quality of life in the Arroyo Seco area through issues such as transportation, environment, outdoor recreation, historic preservation, education and many more.
