Junior Summer Institute in Public Policy & International Affairs

I encourage Oxy students to apply for the 2008 Public Policy & International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship & Junior Summer Institute (JSI) Program.

The goal of the PPIA Junior Summer Institute is to prepare undergraduate students for graduate study and careers in public policy and international affairs. This goal is achieved by providing participants with the tools of critical thinking, speaking, writing, and quantitative reasoning and with the skills and experiences necessary to create, analyze, implement, evaluate, and affect policy in a multicultural, multiethnic society. The summer institute provides a rigorous training in policy analysis and serves as springboard to exciting careers in public service. It is for students who have completed their junior year.

Each student enrolled in the PPIA Junior Summer Institute is fully funded and receives financial support for the total cost which includes all courses, textbooks, on-campus meal plan, access to University libraries, athletics facilities, a single room in a dormitory reserved soley for JSI students, domestic travel expenses and a minimum of $1,000 stipend.

Over the years, a number of Oxy students have been selected for this program and have great things to say about the experience. Graduate schools look very favorably at students who have participated in the PPIA Summer Institute. Our most recent recipient is Lilia Pharazyn '07 for summer 2007.

To learn more about the program and get an application form, visit the PPIA Junior Summer Institute website: http://www.ppiaprogram.org/app/

Application Deadline: November 1, 2007

You may submit the online application ONLY ONCE, so please follow instructions carefully to ensure that you accurately and satisfactorily complete the application. During this process you may choose to submit your application to more than one of the JSIs:
