Overview of Bay Area Funding Incentives and Requirements
Resources Provided Include:
- $10,000 available from the California Air Resources Board
- To qualify, cleaners must substitute PERC machines for a professional wet cleaning system
- Additional $5,000 available to become a demonstration site
Overview of Oakland Funding Incentives and Requirements
Conducted by: Occidental College with funds from the City of Oakland

Amount: $20,000
Program Description: Provides financial incentives
(see below), training and social marketing planning.
To Qualify, Cleaners Must:
- Switch completely from Perc Dry Cleaning
- Be a dedicated professional wet cleaning only site
- Agree to demonstrate wet cleaning technology to other garment cleaners
Resources Provided Include:
- $10,000 for the purchase of wet cleaning equipment
- Free technical assistance from wet cleaning experts
- $2,000 for marketing along with free marketing assistance
Additional Resources:
- Additional $10,000 available from the California Air Resources Board
- To qualify, cleaners must currently use a perc dry cleaning system or have recently switched to a non-perc machine.

To Qualify, Cleaners Must:
- Switch completely from Perc Dry Cleaning to wet cleaning
- Be a dedicated professional wet cleaning only site
- Act as a demonstration site for the duration of the contract, requiring that they be
open for workshops and individual tours
Resources Provided Include:
- $10,000 for the purchase of wet cleaning equipment
- Free technical support from wet cleaning experts
- Free marketing and promotion by the City
Additional Resources:
- Additional $10,000 available from the California Air Resources Board
- To qualify, cleaners must currently use a perc dry cleaning system or have recently switched to a non-perc machine.
