Since 2002, Amanda's work has largely focused on the "Grocery Gap" in Los Angeles and other urban and low-income areas. She has also worked on several of UEPI projects, including: CSA in the Classroom with the Center for Food & Justice; ArroyoFest, a walk and bike ride on the 110 freeway; and a paper for the Loyola Law Review about junk food advertising to children.
She has most recently co-authored the UEPI report Shopping for a Market about the entrance of giant food retailer Tesco into the U.S. Market. (See all of Amanda's publications here.)
Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Urban and Environmental Policy from Occidental College.
