Project Title:  pH Testing
Abstract:    We tested  the pH of the water and the salinity of the water as well. We got our information from our teacher. She told us ahead of time what we were going to be doing; that way, we would be prepared. We learned that the the water at the L.A. harbor at the rock pile had a temperature of 64 degrees and its pH reading with digital and tape recording were both 8. Also that the salinity was 35 ppt. We had the best time.

Project Title:  Our Trip to Cabrillo
Abstract:    The topic we studied was our trip to Cabrillo. We got the information from the book Marine Science. Some information we had from Cabrillo. We learned that there are many different species at Cabrillo. We also learned that there can be big and small species.

Project Title:  Exploring the Vantuna
Abstract:    We tested water qualities at the mouth of the LA river. We got our information by testing the pH, salinity, temperature, and  density.  At the trip we learned how to take measurements of water. We also learned about different types of organisms there and how they're affected by the water quality.

Project Title:  Tidepools
Abstract:    We studied the tidepools and how the organisms adapted to the environment. We got some information from the Internet and some books about the tidepools. We learned that some organisms do not adapt to the environment and it is kind of hard for them.

Project Title:  The Rocky Coast
Abstract:    Our project is on tidepools. In the tidepools, we tested the water.  We tested the water to see how much salinity is in it. We also tested pH, temperature, and the density of the water.  In the tidepools, we learned that tidepools are like mini-aquariums.

Project Title:  "On Board the Vantuna"
Abstract:    Topic- exploring what we did on board the vantuna.
We studied different types of fish, such as, stingrays, flatfish, shrimp, etc. We studied how to sample water qualities and how to find water depth.
We got our information resources by using the Internet and reviewing our notes from the trip. We also looked at books for further resources.
We learned how to find water qualities.
We learned about different types of plankton and how they survive in the ocean life. We learned how deep the ocean can get. Exploring the Vantuna was a wonderful experience and is recommended to all.

Project Title:  Cabrillo
Abstract:    The topic we study is the trip to Cabrillo. We study different types of species. We got our information from the notes we took and some of the information we got from the Internet when we didn't  have some information on some species. What our group learned in this field trip was that some species have trouble surviving thanks to pollution. All types of species live in different ways.

Project Title:  Visiting the Salt Marsh
Abstract:    The topic that we are studying is the salt marsh. We used many sources for our gathering of information. We used the Internet, books, and even the experience we had at the salt marsh. So far, we have learned what a salt marsh is, and how it helps our environment. We have also learned about the living creatures that exist and how they survive using the environment they live in.

Project Title:  Water Quality Testing at the Mouth of the LA River
Abstract:    We studied water quality testing. We got the information from a previous trip. We learned how to test water. We learned the differences from a male fish and a female fish. We also learned what kind of fish lived around that area.
