	AUDITION Although it is not necessary to audition or send in audition materials to become a Theater major at Oxy, students may do so. If you would like to audition in person, please call or email Beatrice Gonzales to set up an appointment. You may also send in a tape or DVD to the Office of Admissions. We encourage you to send it prior to the application deadline to allow it to be evaluated by the Theater Department and returned to the Office of Admissions before the start of the application review process in January. For the audition (or audition tape) we would like to see approximately one minute of Shakespeare and one minute of a contrasting monologue from a play written in the last 125 years. If you can sing, we would also love to hear 16 bars from any musical. If you are interested in design or playwriting, please feel free to submit a portfolio or a writing sample. Again, this is not necessary, but can be used as a supplement to your application.
