Parking and Traffic Citation Appeal

This form must be submitted to Occidental College Campus Safety within seven (7) calendar days of the issuance of the citation. Fill the form out completely. Citations may be appealed either in writing or by personal appearance before the Parking and Traffic Citation Appeals Committee. Both written and appearance appeals require completion of an appeal form. If costs are incurred by the appellate during the appeals process, the costs are not reimbursable by Campus Safety or Occidental College. Only three types of appeals will be considered: an appeal based on unclear regulations; an appeal based on unclear parking or lot lines or curb paint; and/or an appeal based upon circumstances which made the violation necessary and unavoidable. Violations of municipal or state vehicle codes may not be appealed. The following reasons will not be accepted for appeal: (1) ignorance of the regulations. (2) Lack of parking spaces in a preferred location. You will be notified of the results of the Committee's decision. Decisions of the Parking and Traffic Citation Appeals Committee are final.
