The Professional Advantage Fellowship provides a mechanism for preparing
exceptionally promising psychology majors with an intensive professional development experience
to bridge their post-graduation summer and future pursuits in psychology.
This fellowship, made possible through the support of Department alumnus Tod White '59, includes financial support
and mentoring for students to engage in empirical research at Occidental, another academic institution, or a setting
using applied-psychology (e.g., education, business, clinical, and not-for-profit organizations). Those awarded with
the fellowship will not only acquire knowledge, skills, and experience to become better researchers, but also
become more competitive applicants for study in graduate or professional training.
Graduating seniors may apply. The most competitive applicants will have prior experience conducting empirical research, a
specific research opportunity identified, and intentions to pursue graduate or professional training.
