Students who wish to declare psychology as their major or minor are
encouraged to become familiar with the basic departmental requirements and course options.
Details about these can be found on this website, in the course catalog, and a departmental
pamphlet. Department faculty are available to address questions about the major itself,
how it differs from other fields of study, and about possible career tracks.
If you wish to major in psychology, please complete the application (linked below) and submit it
to the department chair. The application encourages each student to develop a tentative plan of
study and to consider what the psychology major can offer him/her during the time at Occidental
and beyond.
