In addition to teaching departmental core courses Andrea teaches courses which explore how individuals grow and change across the life span and the growing pains which accompany those changes. The courses include: Developmental Psychology, Adolescence, and Loneliness Across the Life span. She also teaches a cultural studies course on the changing family. Her research focuses on children's and adolescent's social and emotional development. She has published articles on loneliness in childhood and adolescence, peer conflict, and popularity.
