     Roger Boesche teaches the history of European and American political thought. He has won the Loftsgordon Award (the senior class teaching award) twice, and the Sterling Award given by his faculty colleagues for teaching and publication.  He has published numerous articles and four books including The Strange Liberalism of Alexis de Tocqueville and Theories of Tyranny: From Plato to Arendt.  Recently he has been researching political thought in ancient India and China, which has resulted in his most recent book The First Great Political Realist:  Kautilya and his Arthashastra.

The purpose of the Occidental College Republicans is to make known and promote the principles of the Republican Party among students at Occidental College and the community at large, to recruit Occidental College students as members of the club and as members of the Republican Party, to aid in the election of Republican candidates at all levels of government, and to develop political skills and leadership abilities among Republican students as preparation for future service by them to the party and community.
