Welcome
Welcome to the website for the Office for Religious & Spiritual Life at Occidental College. The office is located on the first floor (known as Lower Herrick) of Herrick Interfaith Center. The goal of the office is to support Occidental students, faculty, and staff in their pursuit of a vibrant and meaningful spiritual and religious life. The office is also dedicated to engaging religious diversity with a commitment to acceptance, mutual respect, awareness, and dialogue.

- Interfaith Baccalaureate Service for graduating seniors and their families

The 2011-2012 Values and Vocations Fellowship
The Office for Religious and Spiritual Life is now accepting
applications for the Values and Vocations Fellowship. Fellows
explore the intersection of spirituality and social justice by
working 8 to 10 hours per week in a nonprofit organization and
adding a weekly seminar taught by the Rev. Susan Young, Director for
Religious and Spiritual Life. During the seminar, Fellows engage in
contemplative practices and conversations about religion,
spirituality, social justice and vocation. Fellows receive a stipend
for participating in the program. Students may apply for one or two
semesters. To apply, contact the Rev. Susan Young at
young@oxy.edu. The application
deadline is Friday, September 16. The Values and Vocations
Fellowship is made possible by a grant from the Angell Foundation.
The White House Interfaith Service and Campus Challenge
Occidental College is one of 250 colleges and universities
participating in this national initiative to encourage interfaith
community service and dialogue among college students. The Office
for Religious and Spiritual Life will host events through out the
