What is Greek Council?
Our Purpose

The primary objective of the Greek Council shall be to develop and maintain Greek and College life and inter fraternity/sorority relations at a high level of accomplishment and in so doing to;
(1) Foster a campus climate, which promotes the ideals of human dignity, civility, and mutual respect with an understanding and appreciation of the wealth of diversity within the college community.
(2) Promote superior scholarship and intellectual achievement.
(3) Cooperate with member Greek Chapters, college administration, and campus organizations in concern for and maintenance of high community standards.
(4) Promote activities and communication to project a positive Greek image.
(5) Act as a governing body for inter-Greek activities, including but not limited to Rush, Greek Week, and policies. All member houses have agreed to the governance and authority of the Greek Council
(6) Educate and inform all members of Greek Chapters on the issues related to Greek life at Occidental College.
(7) Act in accordance with all rules established by Greek Council and Occidental College that do not violate the sovereignty, rights and privileges of member chapters and national bylaws.
