Specialization
Dr. Tinberg, Professor of Mathematics, is interested in the field of
pure mathematics, specifically representation theory of finite groups.
Her articles have appeared in The Journal of Algebra, Canadian
Journal of Mathematics, Pacific Journal of Mathematics,
and Communications in Algebra. She is also a
playwright whose plays Bearing Witness , Christmas Babies
(CAKEWALK) and Musical Chairs have been produced in Los Angeles. For

Other Interests:
Dr. Tinberg is also interested in the helping faculty at liberal arts
colleges begin programs of assessment and set up systems for program review.
As a former ACE Fellow, President of the Faculty Council, Associate Dean,
Assistant VP for Assessment and Retention, and WASC Liaison, Prof. Tinberg
is able to share her perspectives on these issues within a strong faculty
governance structure.
