Specialization
Mickey McDonald does research in undergraduate mathematics education (RUME).
His area of inquiry is on how students come to construct their
understanding of specific mathematical topics. He has completed studies
on students' understanding of sequences, differential equations, and
topics related to infinity. His current focus is on using APOS Theory
(Action-Process-Object-Schema Theory) to examine how students
construct an understanding of various concepts related to infinity.
