- I was born in Pittsburgh and moved to
California in 1960. I started working on sportfishing and dive boats
during summers while attending San Pedro High School. I was drafted
in 1970 and served two years in the U.S. Army. I then began
commercial fishing out of L.A. Harbor and, in 1988, worked as an
instructional technician aboard the R/V Yellowfin. I received my
100-ton masters license and became the Captain of the R/V Vantuna in
1991. My hobbies are fishing, SCUBA, golf and doing nothing. My
favorite food is meat.
