Visiting Scholars

Under this program, a visiting scholar may use the resources in the library's stacks for research and study. Due to restrictions imposed by vendors, database access is not available. To be eligible for this program, scholars will provide the library with a letter of introduction and reference from either Occidental faculty or a Dean or Department Head from the scholar's home institution. Letters of introduction outside of Occidental should be on institution letterhead. An appointment is required to fill out and process the application. Academic Referral

Under this program, a visiting scholar may use the resources in the library's stacks for research and study. Due to restrictions imposed by vendors, database access is not available. Referred scholars may also check out materials, including LINK+. No Interlibrary Loan. Eligibility for this program requires scholars to be sponsored by an Occidental College academic department. The sponsoring department will assume fiscal responsibility for any lost or damaged materials. The chair of the department will provide a letter of introduction, and include an account number and give explicit authorization for the library to post charges to the department.
