Diplomacy and World Affairs

 According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary diplomacy is “the art and practice of conducting negotiations between nations” . Diplomacy and World Affairs first became a major in 1957 at Occidental College for students who want to prepare for careers in international relations. Fifty years later, the major is still a popular area of study. The DWA major at Occidental College focuses on a variety of emphases. Whether the classes are in Asian Studies, African Studies, European Studies, Foreign Policy, International Organizations, International Relations, Latin American Studies, or Middle Eastern Studies, there are plenty of resource materials available in either online or print formats in our library.

FirstSearch
A large collection of indexes, directories, and other databases. Especially helpful for finding scholarly articles and books in a variety of academic disciplines.

JSTOR
Full-text archive of high-impact academic journals in many disciplines. Included journals generally begin with full-text from the first issue up until 3-5 years ago. Full-text is not available through JSTOR for recent issues. You can browse journals by discipline, by title or search articles by keyword.

PAIS Archive
