Music Library

Most Music Library materials circulate according to Clapp Library policies, and can be checked out at the Music Library Circulation desk.  The length of the loan period and the number of items allowed is determined by the patron type (Oxy student, faculty, etc.) and item type (score, sound recording, video, etc.)  It is the borrower's responsibility to renew return items on time.

Except for reserve items, materials in the Music Library are arranged in Library of Congress call number order.  Music scores are in the general stacks, and sound recordings are in a closed-stack area.

To check out a score:

  • Find the call number and location for the item using OASys, the Library’s online catalog.

  • Retrieve the item and bring it with your ID, to the Circulation desk at the Music Library to check out.

To check out a sound or video recording:

  • Find the call number and location for the item using OASys, the Library’s online catalog.

  • Bring the call number and your ID to the Circulation desk at the Music Library.  We will retrieve the item, and then check it out to you.
