Using Your Mulitfunction Device

Beginning this fall Canon will be providing technical support as well as supplies for all of the Canon machines and the networked HP machines that were formerly supported by ITS.   
 

Supplies:
If you need supplies (toner, paper, staples, etc.), contact the Copy Center (x2585 or copycenter@oxy.edu). The Copy Center will continue to be located in 120 Coons Hall.  The Copy Center has two technicians on campus who will regularly check printers and copiers on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to ensure adequate levels of supplies and perform routine maintenance.
 

Training:
If you would like training for the Canon provided machines contact Nicole Placensia in the Business Office (nplacensia@oxy.edu, 323-2 59-2660). She will work with Canon to arrange for a training session for you or your department.


Technical Support
:
If you have problems printing from your computer to one of the new multifunction devices or network printers, contact the ITS helpdesk (x2880 or helpdesk@oxy.edu).  ITS will troubleshoot the issues,  address your concern immediately or handle the transition to an on-campus Copy Center technicians.
 

Connecting your Oxy Computer (for EMPLOYEES): 
Using the new multifunction machines as printers requires that you add the new printer to your PC, and if you are using a mac, requires that you install the Canon drivers. We'll be contacting individual departments with instructions and the name of the Canon Printer for your department. If you know the name of your printer, you can also follow the instructions here.


Connecting your Personal Computer to the Academic Commons printers or Res Hall printers (for STUDENTS and EMPLOYEES):
 
These locations utilize the "Release to Print" functionality which means that you will need to swipe your card or login with your Oxy credentials in order to print or copy at these devices. Follow the instructions for installing the printers on this page. Note that for personal computers you'll need to use the queues that use a -Login at the end.

Connecting your personal computer to departmental Canon devices (for EMPLOYEES)
We'll be happy to send you instructions for your personal computers. Please contact the Helpdesk at helpdesk@oxy.edu or 323-259-2880 and let us know which printers you'd like to connect to.
