Conditions of Participation - Also See Eligibility
Participation in off-campus study is contingent upon approval by the program
and continued good academic and disciplinary standing in all semesters
preceding off-campus study. This includes satisfactory completion of
all program prerequisites, including language courses and other courses
related to the student’s proposed academic program off-campus. If the
GPA requirement for the off-campus program is higher than Occidental’s
internal 2.7 GPA requirement, students are expected
to maintain the higher GPA during all semesters preceding
participation. Students who earn a grade of F in any course in the
semester preceding their program become ineligible for off-campus
study. Students who are approved for off-campus study with Incompletes
on the transcript are expected to clear all incompletes from their academic
record by the end of the semester preceding off-campus study. Likewise, all
outstanding balances on the student's account must be cleared by the end of
the semester preceding off-campus study.

Passports
In order to study abroad you must have a passport that is valid for six
months beyond the date of your return to the U.S. following your study abroad
program. If you do not have a passport, or need to renew it, you should do so
immediately following notification of acceptance from Oxy in order to allow
ample time for a possibly lengthy visa process. Passports are issued by
the U.S. Department of State. See their website for information on how to apply or renew your
passport. Passport fees are the
responsibility of the student.
