India: Hyderabad/Council on International
Educational Exchange (CIEE)
Eligibility: GPA of 3.0
Dates: Fall: Mid July - Early December
Spring: Late December –
Early May
Location: Hyderabad, The University of Hyderabad.
Located
in Southern India, this program offers students an integrated
university experience in Asia.
Program Structure: This is a hybrid program. The program
begins with an orientation in Dehli. All students then travel
together to Hyderabad. Program is
offered in collaboration
with the Study India Program at the
University of Hyderabad.
CIEE offers students a combination of
specially designed
courses organized by Study India Program and
regular
university courses. All students take one Indian language
class in Hindi, Telugu or Urdu. In addition, students take the
core
course, Indian Religious Traditions, and two elective
courses from
the arts, social sciences and humanities
departments at the University. Mathematics and science
courses are generally not available to CIEE students.
Excursions and field trips are optional.

Students should work carefully with
the academic staff on-site
to construct an academic program totaling no fewer than sixteen
credits. A maximum of sixteen Oxy credits will be awarded for
the semester.
Housing: Shared rooms in a small guest house on the
university campus.
