Location: Prague. Includes a nine-day trip through Poland
and
weekend trip to Budapest.
Program Structure: This multi-disciplinary curriculum
provides an opportunity to examine the history, culture,
literature
and the arts of Central and Eastern European
Jewry, while at the
same time offering a context for
exploring the non-Jewish history,
politics and society of the
region. Students chose from a series of
courses taught in
English by local faculty expressly for students on
the CET
program. The program is based at the CET study center
affiliated with Charles University. Students are required to
take
one Czech language course and two core courses.
Students may enroll
in one course offered in Charles
University’s department of East and
Central European
Studies; these classes are taught in English and
are open
to other international students. Non-credit service
internships are available for students interested in working
with
one of the four Jewish communities in Prague.

Note
that CET does not allow students to take courses on
a credit/no credit basis.
Students should work carefully with the academic staff
on-site to construct an academic program totaling no fewer
than sixteen credits. A maximum of sixteen Oxy credits will
be awarded for the semester
Housing: Single or double rooms in Charles University
dormitories.
