Eligibility: GPA of 3.0. Students should have completed
Math
310 or Math 320 prior to the start of the program.

Location: Budapest
Academic Program: This is an island program. The
Budapest Semester in Mathematics is a program of
advanced mathematics.
All students participate in the
two-week intensive Hungarian language course
prior to
the start of the semester. Then, students normally take
four courses to earn 16 Oxy units. Courses are taught
for program
participants only. Courses taught in English
by Hungarian faculty at the Technical University Budapest.
Considerable time is devoted to
problem solving and
encouraging student creativity. Emphasis is on
depth of
understanding rather than on the quantity of material. All
students are required to take Hungarian language as one of
their
courses for the duration of the semester.
Students should work carefully with the academic staff
on-site to construct an academic program totaling no fewer
than sixteen credits. A maximum of sixteen Oxy credits will
be awarded for the semester.
Housing: Homestay or apartment with other program
participants.
Number of Students: Approximately 60 students.
