Greece: Athens/Arcadia
Eligibility: GPA of 3.0.
A minimum of one course related
to Greece is required.
Dates: Fall: Late August to Late December
Spring: Late
January to Mid May
Location: Athens, at the Arcadia Center for Hellenic, Balkan,
and Mediterranean Studies and Research.
Program Structure: This is an island program. Students
take an intensive Modern Greek
language course during
the four-day Orientation. The program
includes weekend
and day excursions with individual courses.
Students take
a mandatory Modern Greek language course, and three
additional courses in Modern Greek Studies, Byzantine
Studies,
Ancient Greek/Classical Studies, and Ancient
Greek/Latin. Also,
students with subject background may
pursue an independent tutorial
or independent study. All
courses taught in English for program participants only.
The program provides access to both the American
and
British Libraries in Athens.

Housing: Students live in shared apartments with other
Arcadia students in the lively neighborhood of Pagrati, a
fifteen-minute walk to the Arcadia Center.
