Russia: St. Petersburg-Russian Area Studies/
Council on International Educational Exchange
(CIEE)

Eligibility: GPA of 2.75. Two semesters of college level
Russian or equivalent

Dates: Fall: Late August – Mid-December
          Spring: Late January – Mid-May

Location: St. Petersburg.

Program Structure: The Russian Area Studies Program
is an island program. All students participate in the
programof study at the CIEE Study Center. Students enroll
in Russian conversation and Russian Grammar at the
appropriate level and take the following three area studies
courses: The Arts of St. Petersburg, Russian History, and
Russian Civilization, all taught in English. A series of cultural
activities and field trips are organized during the semester.

Academic Program:
Russian Grammar ~ 4 OXY credits
Russian Conversation ~ 3 OXY credits
Elective ~ 3 OXY credits
Elective ~ 3 OXY credits
Elective ~ 3 OXY credits
TOTAL OXY 16 units

"Students should work carefully with the academic staff
on-site to construct an academic program totaling no fewer
than sixteen credits.  A maximum of sixteen Oxy credits will
be awarded for the semester." 

Housing:  Homestay or University Dormitory.
