An Occidental liberal arts education is academically rigorous, intellectually provocative, and designed to encourage the individual talents and aspirations of each student. We believe that the best measure of our success as a college is the success of our students—yesterday, today, and in the future.
Gifts from individual friends of the College are a vital part of that equation. By supporting financial aid, student-faculty research, technology upgrades and student services, gifts to the College help sustain the tradition of excellence that distinguishes both the Occidental liberal arts education and the Occidental student.
Each year, gifts from friends make it possible for highly qualified students to earn the lifelong benefits of an Occidental degree, and protect the value of Occidental degrees already earned.
Leadership donors to the College may honor a
family member, professor, or special friend by naming a Current Year
Scholarship, an Undergraduate Student Research
Scholarship, or one of a
limited number of benches on the Academic Quad. Friends who designate a
leadership gift to either program will share in the immediate as well as
the long-term benefits of their generosity to the College.
For more information about how you can name an
annual scholarship or a bench on the Quad, please phone the Office of
Annual Giving at (800) 359-9151, or (323) 259-2604.
You may make your gift to Occidental by check or by credit card (Visa,
Mastercard, or Discover), by mail, by phone, or by using the Oxy Online Gift Form. If you would like to make a gift of stock, please contact the Office of Annual Giving for wire transfer instructions and to ensure proper credit for your gift.
Occidental also recognizes donors through seven gift societies.
You may also be eligible for corporate matching
gifts, which are combined with your personal gift to determine gift society membership. Please check with your
human resources department to find out if you qualify for corporate matching gifts.
