Assistant Professor of
New Media
position.
Situated within the Art History and Visual Arts Department’s

technologies, but also as challenging and redefining
traditional media ideology and practice in new ways.
Sample new media emphases include:
-
redefining writing and scholarship through open source
programs and other multimodal routes
-
changing notions of visual culture and public spheres in
the digital age
-
the Internet as both production medium and distribution
platform
-
international or global perspectives on new media
-
race, gender, sexuality, and identity in the new
media/Web 2.0 landscape
-
narrative theory and new media storytelling
-
new media, space, and public art
-
animation, DVD-ROM, or Web-based media production
-
sound theory and digital audio design

virtual and local community-based learning experiences
Preference will be given to candidates with active
exhibition history, publications, and teaching experience.
