California Council
on Teacher Education (CCTE)
The CCTE is a statewide organization that supports teachers through its biannual conferences and support of sound educational policy. The organization has two national journals (Teacher Education Quarterly & Issues In Teacher Education), and several committees that address the numerous educational issues confronting today's teachers.

This committee reviewed and approved alternative assessments used in the state's Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) program.
Los Angeles Unified School District – Teacher Effectiveness Taskforce
This district task force is composed of administrators, teachers, union officials, business persons, parents, and college professors, and is charged with reviewing the teacher evaluation process for the school district. This process includes issues of tenure, seniority, merit pay, professional development and evaluation.

Mestizo
"Toca la musica..." Ron is a band leader for the group Mestizo. The band has been jamming for over 35 years and has 3 CDs: “Mestizo: Mixing It Up," “Mestizo: As Promised,” and “Mestizo: Under Cover.” The music is a hybrid of west coast Latin salsa and R&B original tunes.
