Seth Fearey
is championing the role of information technology in economic development.
Leading the Smart Valley initiative in Silicon Valley, Seth is shaping three
projects. Wireless Campus is encouraging the installation of wireless networks
on the campuses and in the classrooms of all of the community colleges in
Silicon Valley. Wireless Silicon Valley is bringing 23 cities together to find
ways to build a wireless network to cover the outdoors for public sector
workers, visitors, and the public. Smart Health has a vision of networking the
healthcare sector together so that a patient's medical record can be available
to an authorized caregiver anytime, anywhere. Smart Valley's goals are to make
Silicon Valley a leading edge user of the technologies it invents, and create
jobs and enhance the quality of life at the same time. And have fun while doing
it. (2005)
