Class of 1971

Seth Fearey is championing the role of information technology in economic development. Leading the Smart Valley initiative in Silicon Valley, Seth is shaping three projects. Wireless Campus is encouraging the installation of wireless networks on the campuses and in the classrooms of all of the community colleges in Silicon Valley. Wireless Silicon Valley is bringing 23 cities together to find ways to build a wireless network to cover the outdoors for public sector workers, visitors, and the public. Smart Health has a vision of networking the healthcare sector together so that a patient's medical record can be available to an authorized caregiver anytime, anywhere. Smart Valley's goals are to make Silicon Valley a leading edge user of the technologies it invents, and create jobs and enhance the quality of life at the same time. And have fun while doing it. John Garner's employee benefits consulting firm (Garner Consulting) has just relocated, but is still in Pasadena. John is author of the Health Insurance Answer Book and continues to crank out new editions or supplements every year. He serves as the Legislative and Government Affairs Advisor for the Disability Management Employer Coalition, is on the Legislative Committee of the Employers' Health Care Coalition of Los Angeles and is on the Board of Directors of the Western Claim Conference. John travels extensively for his work and attends baseball games wherever he can. John and his wife Gerti are both active members of All Saints Church (Episcopal) in Pasadena. (2007)

Dudley Tower has recently completed his Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems and is working on the application of complexity theory to organizations. He is living with his wife, Chris, in Evergreen Colorado located in the mountains outside Denver. (2000)
