The Department of Economics congratulates all of these students for their remarkable accomplishments. * The Jim Halstead Most Valuable Person Award is a new student award created by the Department to honor professor Jim Halstead, who is retiring at the end of the 2003-04 academic year after teaching at Oxy for 27 years. This award, which will be handed out every year, recognizes an Econ or ECBM major who has given generously of his or her time to help others learn economics.
