Occidental Chorale
About Us

The Occidental Chorale is a large oratorio chorus in Los Angeles open by audition to all community members, students, faculty, alumni, and staff. It reinforces the college’s long-standing tradition of choral excellence and gives members an exciting opportunity to sing major choral works in a highly professional atmosphere.

The Chorale has enjoyed regular collab-orations with local professional orchestras including its own Orchestra Camerata, The Glendale Symphony, Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra, The Pasadena Pops, and The Pasadena Symphony. In 2006 the Chorale performed Poulenc's Gloria with The Pasadena Symphony and Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Naples Philharmonic (in Naples, Florida; read the review). Recently the Chorale has been given the distinction of being chorus in residence with The Pasadena Symphony, and Dr. Bernstein serves as the Assistant Conductor under Maestro Jorge Mester.
