Fall
2000
This course will provide an introduction to cell biology, biochemistry, genetics
and molecular biology. During the semester you will learn basic (and important)
concepts in this field; think of this as learning the "language" of these
areas. In addition to learning concepts, you will learn to think critically about
these fields and further develop your problem solving abilities. Research is moving
so rapidly in these areas that much of what you learn will be obsolete in 5 to 10
years. Therefore it is important to not only learn the basic concepts but to acquire
the skills you need to keep current in cell and molecular biology.
