Anthropology’s long-standing engagement with questions of culture, race, and social justice across borders places the discipline at the center of the College’s mission. The Anthropology Department teaches students to engage in the rigorous exploration of cultures and in the critical examination of the history and politics of the discipline of anthropology. Thus, we are committed to teaching about a wide range of cultures (including minority cultures in the U.S.) and to giving students a grounding in the history, methods, and theories of the discipline. |
