Student Research Opportunities

Students in art history and studio arts have undertaken internships at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Pacific Asia Museum, the Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater Gallery, the Huntington Library, and the Getty Museum. Many courses include visits to area museums to view objects in storage as well as on display, and students working on research projects can often get access to museum records and special collections for primary research. This provides unique opportunities for students to study original works of art and to interact with museum professionals in the course of their research. In addition to our own library and Special Collections, we have access to the libraries of major universities, like UCLA and USC, as well as other scholarly resources such as the Getty Research Institute, the Huntington Library and the Hammer Museum’s Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts.
